FAQ’s

What’s Fulfillment & Distribution?

Fulfillment & Distribution is described in as many ways as there are companies doing it.  We like to think of Fulfillment & Distribution as the process of getting your goods or information from the drawing table into the right hands.  Sort of like “Desktop to Delivery”.  Every company is different and has different requirements.  Some companies like to control more of the action than others and some don’t want to be bothered with Fulfillment & Distribution problems at all.  Besides, setting up a Fulfillment & Distribution system can be expensive and time consuming, distracting you from your primary function of product development and marketing.
Our definition of Fulfillment is fulfilling YOUR needs by performing the functions or tasks that you don’t have the time or desire to do or are unable to do yourself.  We offer our services ala Carte so “customization” is our buzzword.  You customize your service to match your needs - exactly.

What Is Electronic Commerce?
Electronic Commerce is a way to present your products to your customers in a "store" that they can access on the World Wide Web. It enables your customers to browse detailed product information at their own speed and at their convenience. Customers place orders independently by adding products to a "shopping cart," and then those orders are loaded into an order processing system for processing and fulfillment. Electronic commerce expands your business operation to the entire world of Web users and makes your company available 24-hours each and every day! For direct marketers and catalogers, electronic commerce is a natural extension of your print advertising. By taking your catalog of products and making an electronic commerce site, you can add a brand new and very inexpensive media dimension to your overall marketing program!

What's the Difference Between a Web Site and a Commerce Site?
A Web Site is typically a registered domain name (like www.pennyfulfillment.com) that identifies a physical address somewhere on the World Wide Web. It often is simply an "about our company" page of information about the firm, but can involve hundreds of pages of information. A Commerce Site is, strictly speaking, a group of Web pages that conducts Web visitors through a store of products with a "checkout" option for purchase of one or more of those products. Typically a Commerce Site is usually "part of" a Web Site. If a commerce site is not part of a Web site, then the commerce site needs to have a registered domain name to enable customers to "go to" that site on the Web.

Do I Need a Web Server to Have a Commerce Site?

No. A Commerce Site can be hosted for you just like a regular Web Site.

What can E-commerce do for my business?

E-commerce helps you compete and win in an increasingly demanding marketplace. Integrating e-commerce into your company means improved operations, decreased costs, increased sales and facilitated communication with customers, partners and employees.

To take full advantage of the Internet and the potential of e-commerce, your business needs more than a Web site. You not only need to deliver the goods your customers order online quickly and securely, but you also need to provide accurate account and shipping information in real time. The more value you can provide, the more you can increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Electronic commerce, or e-commerce, simply means commerce that happens electronically, or over the Internet. That includes the sale of products, of course, but also the exchange of information, the transfer of funds and the delivery of goods. If any of these steps occur online, then you've got e-commerce, and your business is an e-business.

E-commerce creates a powerful environment in which customers and suppliers are never more than a few mouse clicks away. In this dynamic environment, businesses can reach new customers, create new sales channels, and win loyalty through innovative customer service. Key suppliers can be integrated into a company's internal business processes, leading to more efficient operations, cost savings, improved decision-making, and faster times to market.
E-commerce isn't change for change's sake. Many business fundamentals remain the same, but your company can gain a serious advantage over your competition by transforming your current way of doing business. Whether you want to streamline or revolutionize your business, e-commerce can improve operations, facilitate communications and build your market share. Work more efficiently and expand the audience your business can reach by using e-commerce practices in your business.
The Internet will transform your business by redefining your business strategy. With the right electronic strategy, forward-thinking companies are creating new models, reinventing business processes, and changing the way their organizations interact. Many organizations are now literally redefining their roles in the marketplace to gain and maintain competitive advantage in the Internet economy.
E-commerce helps you compete and win in an increasingly demanding marketplace where businesses must demonstrate increasing capabilities, specialized skills and strategic alliances.
Building your business into an e-business can be an exciting and a daunting prospect. Exciting because the opportunities to integrate Internet technologies with business processes and relationships are almost limitless. Daunting because the possible starting points can seem overwhelming. However, by understanding the fundamental aspects of e-business, you can begin to reap the benefits of getting your business online.
The most important aspect of starting a new business or expanding an existing one is location, location, and location. The same holds true in the virtual world. So before you do anything, secure your dot com location by registering a domain name with Network Solutions.
